Last night was the second night of Hanukkah and today is the second day of Hanukkah.
Last night it was Marykaytelyn's turn to light a candle. So she lit one candle and Carrie lit the other one.
Hanukkah is such an exhausting event in my opinion.
This cat seems to be part of the family. Yesterday we all gathered in the living room to talk about Hanukkah and to pray. When I came to the couch I put him between Joanna and I and he sat as if he were a human. It's funny. He is a very lovey cat to have around. He will sit with you for a long time.
Last night was the first night of Hanukkah today is the first day of Hanukkah. Hanukkah lasts for 8 days and nights. Hanukkah is about rededication. It is also the time that Yahshua was probably conceived (and then He was born some time daring the fall feasts) and He is the light of the world so that would make sense wouldn't it because you are lighting the menorah.
My little sisters made Hanukkah banners to decorate with for Hanukkah.
Last night was the first night of Hanukkah so Carrie lit the first candle and we let it burn until there was no more of the candle.
Today is the first day of Hanukkah so this morning as a treat dad went to the store and bought
doughnuts for everybody to have for breakfast. We do this every Hanukkah as a treat.
A jelly filled doughnut.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I think I'll have this one
Mmmmmmm. This is really good.
Mmmmmm. Nothing ever tasted so good.
That's right nothing ever tasted better.
Jennella and Marykaytelyn.
Mmmmmmm so good.
The goodness of eating a doughnut.
That's so true Abigail. Its so good.
Yea it is true. So very good.
May I have one? I want One! Please! May I have one? I need one. I'll be extra lovey if you give me one.
No No No! Don't give him one give me one! Please! I'll be more lovey than he would be. I will attack him if you give him one.
Dad was purposely misbehaving for his pictures. To be honest I would have been a little on the disappointed side if he had behaved himself.
I think he stuck his tongue out at me.
Yuck! That is disgusting. He is sticking his doughnut into his coffee.
There is a lot of talk about Christmas because it's coming up. Would you be surprised to find out that Christmas started as a pagan festival or do you already know that it was but do not want to give it up? Before my family and I came to know the truth we used to celebrate Christmas but when we realized that it had pagan roots we stopped Now we celebrate Hanukkah instead. Some people will say that Elohim knows my heart. Well, yes He knows your heart but He says do not worship me the way that the pagans worship their gods. And by celebrating Christmas you are disobeying Him. Pagans would take trees and decorate them and worship their gods. They did things that they should not have been doing. When you say "well, He knows my heart", have you ever thought that might be what the children of Israel said when they made a golden calf to worship. But they were punished for doing wrong. Often it has been said worship Him your own way. Wait a minute that is wrong the Bible does not say that. We should worship Him the way that He says to worship Him. So why should that be a problem. It shouldn't be. It is so frustrating that even when there is information with the truth out there a lot of people don't care or don't want to know the truth.
Go read Jeremiah Chapter 10. Please read the whole chapter. Pay attention to what it says.
Something else that goes on in this world is that people tell their children that Santa Clause is real. Why lie to your children when the Bible says not to lie. The only time that it is OK to lie is if it is to save a life or if it is to protect some one. I mean why would any one want to lie to their children? Some Christians wonder why their children after they are older are all of a sudden dropping out of church. Could it be that when they found out that their parents lied to them by saying that Santa Clause was real that they thought that their parents might have lied to them about Jesus or Yahshua too. Please study this topic out don't just look at this post and make up your mind. Study it out first then decide.
Today is the Sabbath, a day of rest. There are six days for work then the seventh day is the Sabbath. The six days of work are from Sunday through Friday. The Sabbath day is Saturday, the seventh day. The Bible says that the seventh day is the Sabbath day. If Yeshua kept the seventh day Sabbath and He is the only perfect example of how we should live our lives then why do we keep a different day as Sabbath? There are a lot of people who keep Sunday as the Sabbath, Sunday is the first day. The Bible says that there are six days of work and then a day of rest. The Bible also says that Elohim created the world in six days and on the seventh day He rested from all of His work. You might say that Yeshua did away with the Torah and that includes the Sabbath. But He did not do away with the Torah because that would be a sin and there is one thing that He cannot do and that is sin.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart. Ex. 20:8
There is a really good documentary out that I think every one should see. It is so good that I would watch it 100's of times if I could. It is called The Way. Here is the trailer:
I love music so much. Music has a meaning. My family is very careful about what type of music we listen to and allow in the home. Some people think that if you are careful about what type of music is allowed in the home that you will not be able to find good music, But that's not true. There is a lot of good music out there. Life is full of sounds and music. When we sing, let us sing to Yahweh. If we are kind of off-key when we sing or if we are going up too high or if we are going down too low, what does it matter? If people say that you sound awful because you are out of tune or you don't have the tune right, so what! You're singing to Yahweh not to them. As long as you're doing your best you have nothing to be ashamed of. When you sing to Yahweh He will hear a very beautiful melody. Here are a few of my favorite songs. I hope you like them.
Today is the 7th day of Sukkot; tomorrow is the great 8th day. Sukkot is about bringing in the harvest and it is about the Israelites spending 40 years in tents in the wilderness. Yeshua might have been born during one of the fall feasts, we don't know what one but it is very possible that he could have been born during Sukkot. During Sukkot we should be celebrating, feasting and having a really great time. On Thursday we went apple picking. We brought in a harvest of apples.
This is a Sukkot movie that my family watched a few days ago. It is a good movie. It is all in Hebrew but it does have an English translation.
The trees are so pretty in the fall.
Abigail was using the apple picker.
Charisa and I where trying to fill a big bucket to the rim before dad could take it and empty it.
The apples where really big and there where a lot of them to pick.
I and some of the other girls could hardly believe that each tree had so many apples.
My brother-in-law Ben said that all of the apples where really good.
The way that the sun was shining through the trees was pretty.
Joanna, Kaytelyn, and Carrie
You can tell that Carrie was having a really great time.
Jennella was using her pinafore to carry all of the apples that she picked.
Kaytelyn is trying to figure out were to start.
I thought this was cool.
Look at all those apples.
Michaelle was picking apples or using the camera.
Ben was also picking apples.
Charisa and I where trying to fill another bucket.
