Sukkot And Apple Picking

Today is the 7th day of Sukkot; tomorrow is the great 8th day. Sukkot is about bringing in the harvest and it is about the Israelites spending 40 years in tents in the wilderness. Yeshua might have been born during one of the fall feasts, we don't know what one but it is very possible that he could have been born during Sukkot. During Sukkot we should be celebrating, feasting and having a really great time. On Thursday we went apple picking. We brought in a harvest of apples.

This is a Sukkot movie that my family watched a few days ago. It is a good movie. It is all in Hebrew but it does have an English translation.

The trees are so pretty in the fall.

Abigail was using the apple picker.

Charisa and I where trying to fill a big bucket to the rim before dad could take it and empty it.

The apples where really big and there where a lot of them to pick.

I and some of the other girls could hardly believe that each tree had so many apples.

My brother-in-law Ben said that all of the apples where really good.

The way that the sun was shining through the trees was pretty.

                                                        Joanna, Kaytelyn, and Carrie

You can tell that Carrie was having a really great time.

Jennella was using her pinafore to carry all of the apples that she picked.

Kaytelyn is trying to figure out were to start.

                                                     I thought this was cool.

                                                             Look at all those apples.

Michaelle was picking apples or using the camera.

                                                         Ben was also picking apples.

Charisa and I where trying to fill another bucket.

Abigail still had the apple picker.

We picked a lot of apples.

We brought in a harvest of apples.

What If I Give All I Have

The Bible says that we should help others and that we should do what ever we can to help them.
We should be happy when ever we get a chance to help any one, the widows, the orphans, and the homeless; we should be helping every one who needs our help. If we help people and if we give all that we can in order to help somebody we would be saving lives. It can be done so let's do it.

So here is a challenge; will you take it? I am going to do this; will you join me? When we see some one who needs some care and help, gladly help them. Take a jar and a lid and at a certain time each week or each month, then when ever it is full you can give or use it to help the needy and the poor. At least start by giving 10 percent or as much as you can afford or as much as you want, it is up to you. Something else that we can do is take boxes of stuff to the homeless shelter such as food, clothes, jackets, shoes, books, toys, socks and any thing that you can think of that might be needed.
If you want to join me or are going to join me feel free to leave a comment and let me know. Or if you would like to you, may leave a comment to encourage any one who is going to do this or is thinking about it or wants to do this.
Remember you may do this how ever you want; I am sure that whoever you help will appreciate it a lot. You can do it.

What If I Give All I Have

Yom Teruah

Today is Yom Teruah. Today we should be celebrating, rejoicing, shouting and blowing the shofar. Yom Teruah started last night and it will end tonight. Yom Teruah is known by a few other names such as Trumpets and Rosh Hashanah, But the real name for it is Yom Teruah. Now what is Yom Teruah all about? Jewish tradition says that it is when the world was created. And this is also the Jewish new year. Others say that Yom Teruah is the day that Yeshua came as a baby, he did come in the Fall. This could very possibly be the day he came because there were trumpet blasts and angels when he came, and sometimes this is considered trumpets. Others say that Yom Teruah is when Yeshua will come back. We know that Yom Teruah started last night because the sliver of the moon was spotted in Israel last night. Why would we think it possible that Yeshua would come on Yom Teruah? Well when he comes back there will be rejoicing and celebrating and trumpet blasts so it would fit perfectly He might not return today but it is very possible that he will come back on a different Yom Teruah. I want Yeshua to return soon but on the other hand there are people that I pray their eyes will be opened first. Yeshua will return when he is ready and when it is time. Yom Teruah is a day for celebrating, rejoicing, shouting and blowing the shofar.

Last night we all popped pop corn and had a good time. Tonight we are going to have a hot dog roast and have smore's and then we will have some more.  Earlier today we had a family Midrash to talk about Yom Teruah. It was a very good discussion.
